The Team

Ben and Chris BlaineWRITER/DIRECTORS

Having made a string of highly acclaimed short films and music videos the Blaine Brothers are currently developing their first feature film, HALLO PANDA based on the acclaimed short film.

Their award winning short HALLO PANDA was funded by the UKFC and Film4. It still screens on C4 and saw them named “Stars of Tomorrow” by Screen International. It won a clutch of festivals and most delightfully developed its own fan site on Facebook.

Their other short films include DEATH OF THE REVOLUTION (nominated Best British Short and European Prix UIP at Edinburgh) and BAFTA short-listed films RUSSELL SQUARE, BURNT BERNARD and FREE SPEECH (also nominated for Best Film at Rushes and the BBC New Film Makers Award). Other work includes a sketch for the BBC comedy website, commissioned after Rob Brydon drew attention to their online sketches on Twitter; animated music videos for STEEL PULSE (nominated Best Video at Rushes) and ART BRUT (voted second in “Best Cartoon Video Of All Time” by MTV2); and the cult documentary ROCKLANDS.

They have had a retrospective of their films held at the ICA by the London Short Film Festival; a case study of their work formed the backbone of the book “How To Get Your Short Funded, Made And Seen”; and they were mentored by the brilliant Gillies McKinnon through the inaugural year of the Guiding Lights programme.

Along with HALLO PANDA they are currently developing the thriller I’M GOING TO KILL YOU with producer Rebecca Mark-Lawson and the ribald comedy THE STAG with producer Darren Bender of Bigger Pictures. They are represented by Jean Kitson at MBA Literary Agents.

Cassandra SigsgaardPRODUCER

Cassandra launched Jeva Films in 2008, and is developing a slate of feature projects, including the romantic comedy HALLO PANDA by the Blaine Brothers, the comedy CHARLIE FERRARI by Tess Morris and David Allison to be directed by Destiny Ekaragha, the drama STARLESS by Suhayla El-Bushra to be directed by Laura Smith, and the comedy THE BAILEY METHOD by Neth Knowles and developed through the UK Film Council’s First Features Fund. She has also produced a number of short films, including the award winning EVA by Laura Smith, and IN THE PARK by Sasha Hails.

Alongside her producing work, Cassandra has established a practise in film clearances and product placement, most recently servicing Working Title Films including TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY and JOHNNY ENGLISH REBORN.

Before this, she cut her teeth by working with top producers such as Simon Channing-Williams (THE CONSTANT GARDENER) and Andrea Calderwood (LAST KING OF SCOTLAND); she was also Head of Development at Silverlight Media, and Line Produced on international co-productions such as the TREASURE ISLAND KIDS trilogy.

Previously, Cassandra worked in advertising as and International Media Manager at McCann Erickson, with clients ranging from General Motors to Deutsche Bank. She holds a Masters in Feature Film from Goldsmiths, University of London, and in 2008 was selected for the BFI/Skillset Think Shoot Distribute scheme. Imogen Loveday-BrownCOSTUME

Imogen is a freelance fashion and film stylist based in London. Her passion for clothes started with a glamorous mother and a dressing up box that was the envy of her playgroup.

When Imogen was in her early teens she modeled for a short time-travelling Europe she worked with different designers and stylists.

Her most memorable moment was at a ‘knee shaking’ casting in an Italian fashion house for Alberta Ferretti. She realised that truly beautiful clothes existed beyond her ripped jeans and retro t-shirts. Her brief nod to ’94 Seattle grunge was over and her love of fashion and beautiful garments was firmly cemented.

Initially designing and styling for fringe theatre, she then started to branch out in to film and music videos. Music video credits started with ‘Tears’ the then unknown Tinie Tempah’s second single, Girls Aloud ‘Something Kinda OOoh’ and Bashy ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’ followed. Short films include Bird Feeder (RedBag Productions) Strange Woods (Digital Sneakers winner of the 2007 24 hour Film Challenge) and Bafta nominated Bats and Balls (Beyond Fiction)

The award winning Ana Begins kicked off her first feature credit, filming in and around the demanding and unpredictable climate of north Devon in January. Hallo Panda followed, her fist introduction to the Blaine Brothers- charmed by both script and the boys they convinced her that really it was worth coming on board three weeks before their first day of filming (!) Settling happily into the Blaine/Charlie Production family- she has never quite been able to say no to them since.

Alongside her film credits, Imogen works regularly on editorial and commercial fashion shoots. Clients include Jaeger, FT ‘How to Spend It’, Sunday Times Style, Birger and Mikkelson, Glamour and Westfield. Celebrity clientele include Tinie Tempah, Snow Patrol, Girls Aloud, Lauren Leverne, George Lamb, Nemone. In addition an exciting long-term project with the BBC picture publicity team has allowed her to work with some diverse and brilliant photographers, meet some fantastic people and pay homage to some of London’s more beautiful locations.
